Liz Lynchfounder of The Center For Networking Excellence
I am always telling people part of my success is not as much me but my ability to surround myself with great people. People who are "best of class" in what they do, not to mention excellent people and good friends.
About a year ago, my friend, Victor Lee introduced me to Liz Lynch and she has since become a good friend, an awesome advisor and one of the best people I know...not only in the world of networking but someone who thinks outside the box on a number of levels.
In a nutshell, Liz is a sought-after speaker and business networking expert whose products, programs and seminars help entrepreneurs and professionals get clients, build their businesses, and accelerate their careers through networking.
Among the many things Liz and I have talked about was her on camera presence...Liz never thought of herself as an "on-camera" person...she enjoyed writing, speaking and doing consulting work. When I met her the first time I asked if she ever considered doing some video thing (on the web initially) and she looked at me like I have three heads "me, on video...no way" she said. At which point I showed her my Flip camcorder and explained to her how easy it is, not only to shoot video but the process of loading it onto a computer (mac/pc, laptop/desktop) and getting it online is as easy as pushing a couple of buttons. Something must have clicked because Liz recently launched a new series of videos in conjunction with her "soon to be published" book on networking due out this fall.
Here is the first "Passport to Networking with Liz Lynch" she shot in, of all places, Park City Utah on her new Flip Camcorder
In addition, Liz and I are talking about hosting a series of events based on her "Networking Excellence" business so stay tuned for details.
In the meantime, if you would like to meet Liz, she will be speaking on Thursday May 15th at The SLA-NY Chapter event entitled "Smater Networking" (see info below). SLA is the international association representing the interests of thousands of information professionals in over eighty countries worldwide.
